The Search for Tronix Image Model 2009 is on!

The path towards stardom may be a tough one – but it just takes a single photo to start your journey to become a celebrity. So if you have a face that can be featured in posters, a smile that distinguishes you from a million smiles, and a personality to charm a crowd, then you can join the Innovatronix Inc.’s search for the Tronix Image Model 2009.

The Tronix Image Model is on a lookout for the best male and female faces, 13 to 24 years old, which can be featured in display materials found in all Tronix outlets in malls and different establishments in Metro Manila and major cities in the provinces. Add to that, the 2009 search will also include a category for young girls, aged 6 to 12 years old.

“We are inviting everyone who has a photogenic face to join this search. All they need to do is fill up an application form available at selected Tronix Imaging Centers , Tronix Evo3 kiosks, or any Pix Imaging outlets in the Luzon region. Submit the form along with an ‘Image Model’ package for P195 which includes all the required pictures to be submitted,” said Ms. Adelaida Jumarito, Operations Manager of Innovatronix, Incorporated. Deadline for submission is on November 30, 2008.

Twelve female finalists (for the 13 to 24 years old category) and six female finalists (for the 6 to 12 years old) will be chosen in December 2008 while only six male finalists (for the 13 to 24 years old category) will be picked. The lucky ones will undergo a pictorial session with a professional photographer. The finalists’ pictures will then be posted at all participating outlets. The public can join in the fun since they can vote for their favorite contestants who will ultimately be the Customers’ Choice.

“The winners of the Customers’ Choice will be determined through ballots; while the Image Model winners shall be chosen by a panel of judges,” said Ms. Jumarito, who added that the 24 finalists will already take home some prizes. Top winners will receive cash, products and gift certificates.

“More than the prizes, the winners’ faces will grace all the Tronix outlets nationwide. This could be the start of their modeling or acting career. It just shows that a single photograph can pave a way for a brighter future,” said Ms. Jumarito.

For details, see posters found in selected Tronix & Pix outlets in Luzon Region or you may call the Innovatronix office at (02) 645 1903, (02) 645 1598, (02) 645 6124 or (02) 645 1592.

Customer Advisory on Foreign Fees

This article will explain why some card holders see additional fees appearing on their card statement.

=========================================

Some customers have asked why they were charged a "Foreign Fee" when purchasing a product or service online.

Explanation of Foreign Fee
In 2005 Mastercard and VISA began imposing an additional fee for cross border transactions involving currency conversion. I.e. If a card was used outside the country it was issued from and the transaction was in a foreign currency an additional fee was applied to the processing charges by the card companies. The cross border fee is charged to the bank that issued the card, not to the cardholder and not to the merchant.

The issuing banks passed on the fee to the cardholders by adjusting of the currency that transaction was processed in to the currency of the card. In 2007, card companies and issuing banks in the US lost a class action suit brought against them for not disclosing this practice.

The card companies must now ensure that the issuing banks fully disclose additional fees passed on to cardholders.

VISA International Service Assessment (ISA)
VISA's cross border fee is now known as the International Service Assessment (ISA) fee.

VISA began charging issuing banks the ISA on all international purchases from April 2008. If a card is accepted by a foreign bank in the same currency as the bank that issued the card the ISA is 0.8%. If the transaction is made in a different currency then the ISA fee is 1%.

Prior to April 2008 VISA only applied the Cross Border fee of 1% when there was a foreign exchange conversion.

Mastercard Cross Border Fee (CBF)
In principle, Mastercard's Cross Border Fee is the same as VISA's but the wording is slightly different.

If a card is accepted by a foreign bank in the same currency as the bank that issued the card the CBF is 0.8%. If the transaction requires currency conversion an additional 0.2% is applied by Mastercard.

ISSUING BANK FEES

It is important to remember that the Mastercard CBF and VISA ISA fees are charges applied to the issuing bank and not to the cardholder or (us the merchant).

According to the card companies, it is up to the issuing banks as how they apply the fees. Some issuing banks are passing the fees on to the cardholder. Some banks are also applying an additional fee on top of the VISA and Mastercard fees. The additional fees range from 1% and 3%. Some banks choose not to pass on the Foreign Fee as they receive income from the interchange fee. The interchange fee is paid to the issuing bank for taking part in the transaction.

It is clear that some banks are attempting to make additional profit on transactions originating overseas. "Foreign fee" appearing on card holder's statements for card issued by US banks.

In Europe, VISA ISA and Mastercard CBF are collectively known as the cross border fee. Mastercard has stopped applying the CBF to European issued cards.

DISCLAIMER
This article was published on 2008-09-25 in good faith based on information available on multiple websites, including articles from the card companies and newspapers. The complete accuracy, especially in regards to fees the various charges may not be 100% accurate and we advise customers/cardholders to check with your bank to confirm the charges.

Tronix Explorer XT Product Review

Product Review from DIYPhotography.net

I try to do almost all my outdoor shooting with Nikon Speedlites. This should be quite obvious to anyone who reads this blog. However, strobes can not always provide all the light you need. (Unless you can stack a gazillion of them together). Some cases where a strobe will not cut it are shooting against a harsh sun, lighting huge deserted interiors, having to use large diffusers outdoors, and more.

Those are just the types of scenes where I use a studio flash... Hey there! waitaminute!! You said shooting outdoors. Are you pulling my leg with the studio flash thing?

How to set up a digital printing business

Going into a business is a challenging task. There are a lot of factors to consider but most of the time, would-be entrepreneurs want convenience to help them make it through the day. With the “convenience” of entrepreneurs in mind, Innovatronix Inc. has come up with the “Evo3 Print Xpress Package”—an exciting and convenient way for those who want to invest in the profitable digital photo printing business.

“The Evo3 Print Xpress Package is business made easier and more convenient especially to first-time entrepreneurs. No frills, no royalties, no hidden charges. It’s as good as buying the Tronix Evo3 Digital Photo Printing Machine plus the convenience of having a ready-for-set-up kiosk complete with amenities,” said Jonas Africa, product sales officer of Innovatronix.

For several years, Innovatronix Inc. has been offering the Tronix Evo3 digital printing machine to entrepreneurs who wanted to go into digital printing business. To make business more convenient, the kiosk-type printing business package with Tronix Evo3 machine was introduced, thus the Evo3 Print Xpress.

With the Print Xpress, Innovatronix is giving the entrepreneur the convenience of putting up a business faster, easier and hassle-free. “They don’t have to think what kind of kiosk to put up, or the design and dimensions that malls or commercial centers require for tenant applicants. We are going to lay it out all for you,” added Africa.

Since “convenience” is the very advantage of this setup, the interested buyer would only submit a list of locations (it may be malls or trade areas) where they wanted to put up the business. Upon settlement of required fees or payment, Innovatronix will provide the client the business proposal, letter of intent and the design and layout of the kiosk. The client will process his/her application with the mall or establishment with the documents provided by Innovatronix. As soon as the application is approved and settlement of payment and training is completed, Innovatronix will set up the kiosk and install the Evo3 machine at the client’s location.

“The Evo3 Print Xpress setup is perhaps the easiest and most convenient package that we have introduced. Business and ROI can come in immediately!” said Africa. “Given a very good location and sound management practices, preferably in commercial centers and large foot traffic areas, investing in this kind of business can give you a payback period of less than a year. It also depends on the number of photo prints the shop is making a day.”

Since this is not a franchise, Innovatronix will not collect nor charge the client with royalties or percentages in the monthly income. Management decision-making is entirely left to the owner. With proven track record on after-sales service, Innovatronix will surely assist the owner with product and technical support and marketing programs.

For more information on the inclusions of the Evo3 Print Xpress Package and the payment schemes available, call 645-1592, or e-mail: marketing@innovatronix.com or visit Web site www.innovatronix.com.
